JOÃO SOUSA became a Mike Davis ambassador at the end of 2014 for, among other reasons, being the best Portuguese tennis player to date and for his proven track record of excellence in one of the sports that are in the brand's DNA. He was born in Guimarães on March 30, 1989 and began playing tennis at age 6 through his father at the Guimarães Tennis Club. At the age of 15 he heads to Barcelona, where he still lives today, to follow his dream of becoming a professional tennis player. In 2012, he entered the TOP 100 of the ATP singles rankings and in 2013, with victory at the ATP 250 in Kuala Lumpur, he rose to 51st place, becoming the first Portuguese to win an ATP title. In 2014, he makes history again by reaching the Top 40 after reaching two finals in tournaments on the circuit. In 2015 he achieved his best ranking to date, reaching 33rd place, thanks to his victory in the ATP 250 Valencia. He thus became the first Portuguese to win two ATP tournaments.

In 2016 he reaches the quarterfinals of the Madrid Masters 1000 and reaches his best ranking ever: #28 ATP.In 2017 he reaches two more ATP finals, being 2018 the year of consolidation of the career he has been building. Besides thrilling the country by being the first Portuguese tennis player to win the Millennium Estoril Open, he once again achieves a feat for national tennis by being the first Portuguese to reach the last 16 of a Grand Slam, the US Open. Throughout the year he also marks his presence in two semi-finals, Marrakech and Chengdu, and in the final of the Masters 1000 in Rome in doubles. Besides being an elite athlete, João represents on a personal level the values that Mike Davis defends: determination, rigor, simplicity and resilience.

José Pedro Monteiro

Windsurf

JOSÉ PEDRO MONTEIRO belongs to the many athletes who joined the Mike Davis family at the beginning of the brand when the association with elite sports took hold. He started Windsurfing at the age of fifteen in Mozambique. He was part of the national Windsurfing team that in the eighties dominated the regional, national and Iberian championships and won the national title several times. This period of his career culminates with his participation in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In 2010 José Pedro became champion in the Grandmaster category at the World Slalom Championship in France.

Besides being an experienced sailor and having several titles in the sport, José Pedro has always been connected to Windsurfing either as a coach, manager or entrepreneur. His passion for this sport led him to create the first artificial lake for Windsurfing in Oeiras. Being able to practice at any time, in perfect conditions and without risks was a dream come true. José Pedro represents the serenity of a full life, an incredible personality not only in sports but above all as a human being, with a huge amount of knowledge that is worth learning from.

Helder Reis

HÉLDER REIS is the ambassador who has been associated with Mike Davis for the longest time, twenty years of history in common. Born in Esmoriz, Hélder Reis is divided between television, music and writing. In 2000 he made his debut on the RTP show "Praça da Alegria" and has never stopped since. He was a reporter on the RTP2 program "Sociedade Civil", a Portuguese commentator on the Eurovision Song Contest and on the European Capital of Culture. He presented "Notícias do Meu País" (News from My Country) where he was close to the Portuguese communities around the world. Nowadays we can see him daily in the program "A Praça da Alegria" and weekly in the presentation of "Aqui Portugal". Music is another of his passions.

He is the author of several books, among them: children's books, poetry, and the last one, of stories about Portugal. As if this were not enough, he also has an agricultural project in Trás-os-Montes, doing justice to his passion for the land and his country where he fulfills his wish to see the country grow also in the interior. Hélder Reis in his reserved manner does not hide the immensity of his soul, generosity, and knowledge. We know him to be a great ambassador for his country, its traditions, and its people. He is the lead singer of the band Pólen, a band that allies traditional sounds with pop and jazz, sung in Portuguese.

Nuno “STRU” Figueiredo

Kitesurf

NUNO "STRU" FIGUEIREDO is the latest Mike Davis ambassador eventually joining this exceptional group in 2018. Being a man of the sea was a decisive factor for a role that aims to reflect the ideals of the brand. Originally from Porto, Nuno "Stru" is a kitesurfer who already has several national and international titles. He began surfing in 1991 and in 2001 he fell in love with kitesurfing, which led him to join the world top 10 and international Team Rider. He became national champion in 2010, 2013 and 2014. Among other awards, the following international titles stand out: champion of one of the World Championship races in Santa Cruz (Portugal) in 2011, and Vice-Champion of the World Championship in Dakhla (Western Sahara) in 2013.

However, the dream of this wave rider was a greater achievement. And on November 8, 2017 he made it come true, breaking the world record for the largest wave surfed in kitesurfing. Praia do Norte was the stage for this Guinness World Records distinction where Nuno "Stru" won a wave of the Nazaré canyon with 19 meters. This athlete is even happier for having achieved this record with a 100% Portuguese team. Nuno brings in his eyes the depth of who faces the biggest waves in the world with the courage of a hero along with the respect that Mother Nature imposes.

Martim Monteiro

Windsurf

MARTIM MONTEIRO was invited to be an extra in the Spring/Summer 2015 campaign as a surfer and has been a Mike Davis ambassador since then. He started Windsurfing at the age of 7, having always been national champion as a junior. Still in this class he attended international competitions such as the European Championship in 2009 and the World Championship in 2010. In 2012 he goes again to the European Championship as a senior. He ends up becoming the National Senior Champion in 2013, the year in which he competes for the first time alongside the best in the world in one of the PWA stages, the Professional Windsurfing Circuit. In 2014 he becomes two-time Senior National Champion and makes five international appearances, all of them super positive, in the PWA. Noteworthy is the participation in the incredible indoor race at the Olympic Stadium in Warsaw.

In 2016 he becomes Model of Central Models and begins to perform various modeling jobs where he has international presences of which stands out the participation in an advertising spot where he acts with Shakira.In 2018 he launches into a new challenge where he joins the cast of the soap opera "Vidas Opostas" taking the first steps as an actor. Later that year he joined the MEO Social Media team that covered events such as the MEO Southwest Festival and the MEO Rip Curl Pro. He becomes an It boy for his various skills and lifestyle. He is a fan of a healthy lifestyle where sports and natural food are the dominant elements. Martim is genuine and his way of being reflects all the values and ideals that his family structure brought him. His energy leaves no one indifferent.
